The purpose of a cover letter is to introduce yourself to the potential employer, and give a brief explanation as to where you found out about the opening and why you are the best candidate for the position………….anything else goes into the body of the resume

Hello Katharin
It is going to be difficult to tell a future employer that you are the best candidate for that position. How can you do that? Obviously you can’t.
When I was doing this for a living I used to advise my clients to state that they have had varied work experience – such as : customer service work, telephone reception, computer work including effective email communication – while studying at college, high school, wherever.
That should set the scene for what you are experienced in. Then you can say something like:
You are fully prepared to participate in any training facilities that would help you for this medical assistant position, and you look forward to discussing this at an interview.
There are plenty of ways you can get around this initial problem. It is all a play on words. All you have to do is impress the letter reader and you will get an interview.
