I’ve worked in a high end hotel for years as switchboard operator and I know it sounds lame but I made decent money. The only thing with hotels and sometimes restaurants is that you can’t ever count on nine to five, monday to friday if that is what you are looking for in terms of regular hours… Shiftwork sometimes too for hotels. I did graveyards, mornings, afternoons. Yuck!

Two best serving jobs I ever had were Hooters and TGIFridays. Both have the potential to make a ton of money.

Go for high menu prices and short restaurant hours. And be a waitress. Their shifts usually only last for 4-5 hours. Even less if it is dead. Your training is following around a server, helping them and learning in the process as they guide you around. In many situations it is better to know the menu so your trainer can skip that to better train you in other areas that you can’t get from reading a menu.
