I am a new PhD in the field of biomedical engineering and I have been offered a job in a company in Toronto. The company has offered me 60K (their final offer). I have checked websites such as monster and payscale, however, i could not find a proper starting salary for a new PhD. Could you please advise if you have any more information about the starting salary of a new phd biomedical in Toronto?

    60K is a reasonable offer to get you in the door. You can expect to progress in terms of pay fairly quickly after you start gaining real life experience and should make this expectation know to them.

    If you feel confident, counter offer at a higher number (perhaps 72) and eventually settle around 66 or so.
